Too Thrifty Christmas Wish Lists

Christmas films are in heavy rotation at the Thrifty Palace. National Lampoon’s Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, and This Christmas have gotten us in the Christmas spirit around here, and we’re both eagerly waiting for A Christmas Story to make its television debut for the season. In between organizing our home, making gifts for others, and scurrying around the city, we found time to create our thrifty wish lists.  Here are a few thrifty things that Reese and Ricks wouldn’t mind old fro’d St. Nick slipping under our Christmas tree (which we haven’t bought yet…bah…humbug!)

Reese’s List:

  • A coin purse
  • Acid wash jeans
  • Used shutters to repurpose into a headboard
  • Vintage suitcases
  • Accessories (of any variety, but particularly cool stud earrings, necklaces with a lot of texture, and non-beaded bracelets)
  • A cast iron teapot
  • Pair of Reebok’s with the two straps ( a.k.a 59-elevens)
  • Grey booties that are as cute and the ones that I have now (that are halfway falling apart :/)
  • A red clutch

Ricks’ List:

  • Chunky thrifted statement jewelry
  • A beret
  • Granny/secretary booties with a kitten heel
  • A sleek, stiletto, knee-high boots
  • Classic loafers
  • A red and black  flannel shirt
  • A classic armchair
  • Knee high moccasins
  • Vintage watch

Tell us what’s on your thrifty Christmas list!
